Dr. Monica Umbardand is a skilled obstetrician and gynaecologist with over 10 years of experience in women’s healthcare. A graduate of K.J. Somaiya Medical College, she completed her postgraduate training at Nawrosjee Wadia Maternity Hospital and Lokmanya Tilak Medical College, earning multiple advanced qualifications, including an MD and the prestigious Fellowship of the Indian College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FICOG).

With a rich background working in high-volume government hospitals and elite institutions like Breach Candy Hospital, Dr. Monica has gained diverse experience in managing complex obstetric and gynaecological cases. She has undergone specialized training in ultrasound, laparoscopic tubal ligation, colposcopy and family welfare. Actively involved in community education, she frequently addresses schools on adolescent sexual health and menstrual hygiene and contributes as a faculty member and organizer at various medical conferences.

Dr. Monica has also co-edited books and authored chapters, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology.

She is the co-editor of ‘NCD in Pregnancy and Beyond’ and ‘FOGSI FOCUS on AUB,’ editor of ‘Medicolegal Musings AMOGS,’ and has contributed numerous chapters. Additionally, she played an instrumental role in designing the SHE Guide app, (iOS|Android) an initiative by the Public Awareness Committee of FOGSI.

As a life member of FOGSI, IMA and other prominent organizations, Dr. Monica combines her medical expertise with a compassionate approach to empower women with the best possible care. She is also a proud member of the Rotary Club of Solapur, working tirelessly to uplift the local community.
